Night Garden Hat
The Night Garden Hat class is the perfect opportunity to learn the intarsia technique or to master the intarsia skills you already have. It will begin Friday, January 22nd at 12:00 p.m.; the class will run for 3 weeks and be conducted via Zoom. You will receive assignments/homework to complete before each session.
The Night Garden Hat is a beanie designed by Dee Hardwicke made with 4 colors of the beautiful Dk weight Moordale from Rowan. We will knit it flat and seam the hat before topping it with a fun oversized pompom.
You will learn:
- intarsia
- how to follow a charted pattern
- how to mattress stitch
- how to make a pompom
Advanced Beginner Skill Level
Class is conducted via Zoom*.
Advanced instruction before the class will be sent via email. Please make sure the shop has your current email on file.
Each session is recorded for playback on our YouTube channel.
Please complete the homework before class. (See below).
There is no charge for Zoom classes. We request that you use yarn purchased at the shop.

Includes:
PatternInstructions for making the hat.
Supplies:
2 skeins of Rowan Moordale (we will supply you with 2 extra colors for the flower and the stars)
Size #3 & #4 needles 24" or 32" long
In addition you will need:
- Darning needle for seaming
- Pompom maker (if desired)
Homework:
With Color 1 and smaller needle cast on 100 stitches. Knit 2, Purl 2 for the ribbing a total of 2".
With Color 2 and larger needle knit stockinette for 4 total rows.
In the first session, we will discuss the intarsia technique and begin working the chart pattern.
