All About That Brioche

This modern triangular shawl features a fun mix of garter stitch, color blocking and squishy brioche worked in two colors.

This is an advanced technique class.

It will begin Tuesday, April 6th  at 6:00 p.m.; the class will run for three weeks and will be conducted via Zoom.  There will be homework to complete before the first and second session.

• how to make a brioche swatch 
• how to work the bark and burp brioche stitch
• kfb increases
• how to read a brioche chart

Advanced  Skill Level

Class is conducted via Zoom*.   

Please make sure the shop has your current email on file.  

Each session is recorded for playback on our YouTube channel.  

Please complete the homework before class.  (See below). 

There is no charge for Zoom classes.  We request that you use yarn purchased at the shop.

Includes: 

Instruction for making The All About That Brioche shawl.   

Supplies: 

2 skeins - Fingering Weight Yarn  -  420 yards each.   For the greatest success, both yarns should be completely different colors.  
Recommended yarn:   Lazy Bee Sock Yarn or LaJolla from Baah (please note this yarn is short on yardage by approx 20 yards.  Your pattern will need to be adjusted slightly.   See How to Make the Shawl paragraph on page 2 of the pattern.) 

Size  #4  You can start with a 24", but will increase to 40".  

Tapestry needles. 

Homework: 

Purchase yarn for your shawl. 

Choose your yarn A color.   Begin with the written instructions on page 3, completing the Set Up and Body portion.   Resulting in 150 sts total on your needle.  This needs to be completed by April 13th. 

In the first class, we will be making a swatch (see box on page 5 of the pattern).   Please have available two fingering* high constast yarns and a size #4 - 24" needle.    Complete Part 1 - 22 stitches on your needles before the April 6th class.    *do not use the yarn you have selected for the shawl.
