The Beginning Sweater class is perfect for the 1st time sweater knitter, or for those wanting a refresher. It will begin Thursday, January 13th at 7:00 p.m.; the class will run for approximately 8 weeks and will be conducted via Zoom. The Zoom sessions will be recorded for playback. ( If Thursday nights are not convenient for you, or you miss a class, you can still view the session.) You will receive assignments / homework to complete before eash session.
Tea with Jam and Bread (by Heidi Kirrmaier) is a basic worsted weight unisex pullover, seamlessly knit from the neckline to the bottom hem. It can be knit with or without stripes, and with or without pockets.

Purchase yarn for your sweater (decide if you want the color block stripes).
Knit your swatch: CO 25 stitches on a #7 needle* and knit stockinette stitch for 5 in. (If you know you are a loose knitter, you many want to use a #6 needle). If you are purchasing needles for this project, you may wish to wait until after the 1st session to buy needles other than your "main" needle.
In the first session, we will discuss the swatch and how it will help you to make a sweater that fits. We will discuss the information that is found in patterns to help you choose the correct size for you. The information from the pattern and your swatch will allow you to choose your correct size and cast on your sweater.
