Beginning Colorwork Headband
Would you like to learn how to do color work / stranded knitting? Learn the basics as you knit the Trading Post Headband. The headband is knit in the round with two contrasting colors. Prepare now for your HusKAL knitting this Fall.
Class: Beginning Colorwork Headband
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Must Know Beforehand: Confident knitter, familiar with casting on, working in the round on circular needles. The knit and purl stitch.
Class Sessions: One session.
Cost: $25
You will learn: How to create a pattern using two colors of yarn. How to read and work from a chart. Learn how to strand knit by carrying both of your yarns in your left hand.

Supplies Needed:
- US #3 - 16" circular needle
- US #4 - 16" circular needle
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
Pattern:
- Trading Post Headband by Tressa Weidenaar (free download on Ravelry)
Yarn Needed:
- Approximately 65 yards of dk weight yarn, in two high contrasting colors.
- Recommended Yarns - Blue Sky Woolstok, Lazy Bee Yarns Clover dk, LBA Worsted or Wensley, Berroco Vintage dk
Homework:
- Purchase yarn.
- Download Free pattern from Ravelry.
- Cast 112 sts on with MC, on smaller needles, using the long tail cast on. Join for working in the round and place beginning of round marker.
- Begin bottom ribbing. Rnd 1: (K1, p1) rep around. Repeat Rnd 1 for three more rounds.
Yarn for class, must be or have been purchased from Knit-Paper-Scissors.
Classes with fewer than three students will be canceled 72 hours before the start date, participants will receive a full refund. No refund will be issued for cancel registation 72 hours before class.
